In My Name
Not In My Name is a Jewish peace group that was formed in November
2000 to work for a just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
We believe that the first step toward attaining peace must be for
Israel to end its occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East
Jerusalem.
We call ourselves "Not In My Name" because we feel that
the State Israel often claims to act in the name and interests of
world Jewry, but that these actions do not reflect our Jewish values
and beliefs.
The
Palestine Monitor: The Voice of Civil Society
The Palestinian NGO Network (PNGO) set up this website, a gateway
to civil society, as part of the newly created information clearinghouse
of the same name. The clearinghouse conveys unified responses about
local developments from the perspective of civil society, particularly
given the present crisis in the Palestinian territories. The website
will also highlight the real effects the many changes and decisions
have had on Palestinians’ lives over the past several years,
and also provides tools for the public to take action on specific
issues.

Jerusalem Fund For Education and Community Development
The Jerusalem Fund for Education and Community Development was established
in 1977 in Washington, DC to provide education and development assistance
to Palestinian communities in the West Bank, Gaza, and Israel. In
1991, the Jerusalem Fund created the Center for Policy Analysis
on Palestine, an educational program that provides a forum for accurate
information and analysis on issues pertaining to the Palestinian-Israeli
conflict and U.S. policy in the region.

Bat Shalom is a feminist peace organization of Israeli women. We
work toward a just peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors that
includes recognition of a Palestinian state side-by-side with Israel
and Jerusalem as the capital of both. Within Israel, Bat Shalom
works toward a more just and democratic society shaped equally by
men and women.
Bat Shalom, together with The Jerusalem Center for Women, a Palestinian
women's peace organization, comprise The Jerusalem Link. As Israeli

B'TSELEM - The Israeli Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories
was established in 1989 by a group of prominent academics, attorneys,
journalists, and Knesset members. It endeavors to document and educate

in the Occupied Territories, combat the phenomenon of denial prevalent
among the Israeli public, and help create a human rights culture
in Israel.

Hope
of Happiness
On the morning of October 11th, a plane wrote the word "Hope"
four times in the sky above the greater Boston area. The word was
seen over Copley square and as far north as Nashua, New Hampshire.
Simultaneously, throughout Boston, postcards with the word "Hope"
printed on the front were distributed by hand to people on the street.
They were encouraged to send their postcard to someone who needs
it. Fourty people volunteered to distribute 5000 cards.

The events of September 11 left everyone who witnessed them suspended
in a state of remorse, anger, and most of all, powerlessness. The
aftershocks of these events have yet to cease, the long-term damage
has yet to be fully realized. In response, the students, faculty,
and staff of the Maine College of Art have gathered as a group,
to envision ways we might address the tragedy and contribute our
collective talents to the healing of our community.
